Some of my earliest memories are of painting and paintbrushes because I grew up in a house where art was being made. Throughout my lifetime I have explored many different media and consider myself to be, at my core, a painter. However, when I began to explore the world of mosaic, that definition of myself as an artist expanded. I realized that I can create colorscapes and textures with more than just paint. My journey into mosaic has unlocked the door to my true artistic expression and I feel like I finally have all the tools and tricks (and beads) I need to create what is in my heart and in my imagination.
